No app watches you hit and hands back an honest NTRP or UTR number. Those ratings come from who you beat and by how much, not from how your forehand looks, so a video of your strokes has nothing to be matched against. Phone cameras now track every shot, speed and line call, and form scores exist. None of them map onto a rating.

Why not yet: NTRP and UTR are outcome ratings computed from match scores against rated opponents, so there is no ground truth that links how a stroke looks to a level.
What would change the verdict: This flips to yes if a rating body trains and validates a model on match video from thousands of rated players and accepts its output as a provisional rating, because only the people who own the rating can make a video-based number mean anything.
People keep asking for this: “These ratings are based on competition and not form or ball speed” · “there is no "3.5 forehand" or any other shot”
