Suno is free to make songs with, 50 credits a day and no card, but the free plan has no commercial rights and no dependable way to download. Since September 3, 2026 a new free account is promised no downloads at all, only that it "may occasionally receive" some. Making music is free. Taking it with you is the paid part.
Stay on the free plan if you make songs for fun and are happy to play and share them through a Suno link, because the 50 daily credits keep coming with no trial clock.
Pay for Pro if you need the file or want to earn from the song, since $10 a month is the cheapest way to get 20 downloads and commercial use rights.
Skip it if you need more than 20 finished tracks a month as files, or music cleared for a client, because every plan now meters downloads and a stock library does not.

| plan | price | what matters |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 50 credits a day (about 10 songs), v6-mini model, no commercial rights, no monthly downloads |
| Pro | $10/mo | 2,500 credits and 20 song downloads a month, commercial use rights, v6 models. $8/mo billed annually |
| Premier | $30/mo | 10,000 credits and 60 song downloads a month, Suno Studio. $24/mo billed annually |
The free plan has no monthly downloads. Suno's help centre splits free users by sign-up date: accounts opened before September 3, 2026 have up to 7 trial downloads for life, and accounts opened on or after that date "may occasionally receive trial downloads". Both can buy downloads. Suno's public pages do not print the price.
A download is one song in any format, and downloading the same song again does not use another. The cap also covers songs you made before it existed.
There is none. Suno says songs made on the free plan are for personal, non-commercial use, cannot be monetised, and can be shared with your Suno link. Trial downloads carry the same restriction.
Upgrading later does not fix old songs. Suno's help centre says a subscription does not give you a retroactive commercial licence for songs made on a free plan by default, and that exceptions are not guaranteed. If a song might ever earn money, subscribe before you generate it.
Pro changes three things: rights, files and the model. Songs you make while subscribed come with commercial use rights, you get 20 downloads a month including WAV, and you move from v6-mini to the full v6 and v6-wild models.
The 2,500 monthly credits work out to about 500 songs, so Pro lets you make roughly 25 songs for every one you can download. Unused downloads do not roll over.
Nothing on the free plan. Pro is $10 a month and Premier is $30, or $8 and $24 a month billed annually. The pricing page opens on the annual prices, so the first number you see is the lower one.
Not of the paid plans. Suno's pricing page lists no trial of Pro or Premier today. What Suno calls a trial is the free plan's "trial downloads", up to 7 for life on accounts opened before September 3, 2026.
No. Suno Studio is listed only on Premier, the $30 a month plan. Suno says work done inside Studio is not subject to the download limits.
You get 50 a day and they do not carry over. Each generation costs 10 credits and makes two songs. Free accounts cannot buy extra credits.
On a monetised channel, only with songs made on a paid plan. Free plan songs cannot be monetised. Suno's terms also tie commercial use to having obtained a permitted download of the song.
