Pro is the same GPT-6 models with more room, plus two things Plus lacks. On OpenAI's comparison table the GPT-6 models are ticked for Plus and marked Expanded for Pro. The Pro-only rows are GPT-5.6 Sol Pro and Dots. The Pro card adds Pro reasoning on GPT-6 Astra and longer Codex and Work sessions.
Everyday chat does not change. Text chats are unlimited on both plans, so if your complaint is the answers in a normal conversation, Pro offers nothing new except Pro reasoning.
Pro has limits, they are just not written down. OpenAI's help page says only that Pro 200 includes more usage than Pro 100, and Pro 500 the most. The one figure in OpenAI's own words is from its DevDay recap: Pro 500 is "25 times the ChatGPT Plus allowance". The Plus allowance is itself unpublished, apart from Codex estimates as wide as 15 to 160 messages per five hours.

At $100 and $200 they cost the same, and Anthropic is the one that prints its multiples: Claude Max is 5 times Claude Pro's usage at $100 and 20 times at $200. Neither company publishes the base, so neither multiple converts into messages.
Claude Max keeps a rolling five-hour session and a weekly limit. ChatGPT Pro has dropped the five-hour limit for now. Choose by the tool you already work in, Codex or Claude Code, not by the multiple.
